This time of year I like to take stock of where things with bitcoin. I think it’s because my first time on TV was to sell a single bitcoin for $800 as a Black Friday gift when I was a reporter with Bloomberg.

The price of bitcoin just hit $100,000 and this does all sorts of things to peoples’ mental health. Someone once said, “there is nothing so disturbing to one's well-being and judgment as to see a friend get rich.” Huge amounts of FOMO (fear of missing out) are going on.

The only advice I can give is to focus on the underlying philosophy behind private money not controlled by the government.
